Planes, Love, and Surprises

It’s been pretty crazy in our household lately. And when we say crazy, we mean awesome!

Last week, Chris heard about a WWII bomber that could be toured at a local airport. We felt this chance might not come again, so we hopped on it. Chris loves planes, and Jessica loves history. Perfect! As a kid, he had considered being a navy pilot, and he still has dreams of earning his flying license. For now, he is content with building his radio control air planes and flying with his local RC club.

Chris crawling through the plane. Not easy for the 6' 4'' guy, but he loved ever second of it.

Chris really wanted to get into the belly, but he was told he would have been tall. Jessica wondered why there were swastikas on American planes, but apparently it's to represent the number of Nazi planes shot down. Interesting.

Besides visiting the plane, we were finalizing all the preparations for our yard sale last week. Saturday, we had our huge yard sale at a community yard sale since our country home is less than ideal for yard sale exposure. It was non-stop from 7am until 1pm. Not one single break! We had some stuff left over, but we sold tons. Again, thank you to every who helped out or stopped by. We were humbled by everyone’s support. Many people shared their personal experiences with infertility and adoption. It was very moving that so many people opened up to us.

We took it easy Sunday, but it was our 7th wedding anniversary. We’ve been together for 13 years. Time really does fly. It’s been a long time since that guy teased that girl in study hall or that girl would borrow that guys ring. We haven’t stopped teasing each other since. As always, it’s all in good fun. We kept it pretty low key this year, but we enjoyed some yummy seafood at a local restaurant.

We forgot to take pictures of ourselves last weekend. Honestly, it was so busy, we barely had time. We had hoped to take at least one at the yard sale in shirts friends made us, so we’ll have to get a picture of those soon. We had lots of compliments on them.

(And we, just found out that we are approved as adoptive parents!! We’ll have to wait on our official certificate. It’s all becoming real, y’all!)

Ok, now it’s your turn! What fun or exciting things did you do this week?
