Hey, y’all! It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, but I couldn’t miss Music Monday. We’ve been getting a few questions about adoption updates. Unfortunately, we don’t have much to update. We are still waiting for an expectant parent to find us and choose us to parent their child. Lately, I’ve been drawn to one song in particular that reminds me of our journey thus far. Ben Nelson’s “Come Home” captures the hopefulness and longing we’ve been feeling during the wait. Plus, it has a banjo. L-O-V-E the banjo!
Lyrics:
You may not have my eyes
Or your mother’s sweet smile
But you have our hearts
You may be miles away
We may not know your name
But you have our hearts
You have our hearts
And if home is where the heart is
Come home darlin’
Come on home
And if love crosses oceans
Your mom and I were hoping
You’d come home
Come home
You may feel lost and alone
But child you’re coming home
Home with our hearts
You may not have a hand to hold
But you’re not alone
You have our hearts
You have our hearts
And if home is where the heart is
Then come home darlin’
Come on home
And if love crosses oceans
Your mom and I were hoping
You’d come home
You’d come home
And if home is where the heart is
Then come home darlin’
Come on home
And if love crosses oceans
Your mom and I were hoping
You’d come home
And if home is where the heart is
Then come home darlin’
Come on home
And if love crosses oceans
Your mom and I were hoping
You’d come home
Come home”
We have a few different things in the works, so keep your eyes peeled for updates coming soon.
I am glad this song has given hope and support to you and your family. -Ben N
