I was going to share another song when I heard this new song last week. It was written by an adoptive parent, Kevin Palmer, who is also waiting to adopt with his wife, Layla. The couple appear to be in the process of adopting a child from Haiti, but it looks like a neat blog I need to catch up on. The song is entitled “Love Collides.” It’s a really pretry, thoughtful song. It beautifully captures the hopefulness I feel so much so there isn’t much I can add.
The music video with lyrics can be viewed at The Lettered Cottage
Lyrics:
“I wonder where you are tonight
I dream about you when I close my eyes
You’re all I see
I pray that I’ll be what you need
As I reach for you
And pull you close so I can feel you breathe
You are the grace between my everything
You are the song I sing
So lay down you pretty head
And rest your soul tonight
Cause God will watch you while you’re sleeping and so will I
And I’ll be kneeling by your bed
until the morning light
I know one day
I won’t be dreaming
When hope and love collide
I’m on my way to you tonight
I’ll take you in my arms and hold you tight
I’ll never let you go
Cause God has trusted you with me
And I’m on my knees
I know that he has planned this perfectly
You are the grace between my everything
You are the song I sing
So lay down your pretty head and rest your soul tonight
Cause God will watch you while you’re sleeping
And so will I
And I’ll be kneeling by your bed
Until the morning light
I know one day I won’t be dreaming
When hope and love collide
You leave me breathless
My heart will be restless until I’m holding you
My love unending and you’re the beginning
My answered prayer
My dream come true
So lay down you pretty head
Lay down your pretty head
Cause God will watch you while your sleeping
So lay down your pretty head
And rest your soul tonight
Cause God will watch you while your sleeping
And so will I
And I’ll be kneeling…
I know one day I won’t be dreaming
When hope and love collide”
I was really excited to find this song, and I hope you enjoyed it. 🙂
