We celebrated our anniversary last weekend by going to the beach! And, we took the dogs with us. Ellie is not a huge fan. She doesn’t mind being where she can stand, but she can’t swim without her life jacket. Ellie definitely mooches to be held. Look at that face!
And, Mama caves (as always):

Oreo had a blast. We wish we could have left her off the leash, because she wanted to run so bad. She reacted to the sand very similarly to the way she plays in the snow. And, Oreo loves the snow! 
She loved the water 100% until it reached her chest. 
As you can probably tell, the tide was out, so we had a looong way out until this happened. Chris encouraged her to swim. Oreo is a Daddy’s girl, so she followed him out. There aren’t a lot of opportunities for the dogs to go swimming around us, so this was definitely a first. We are already looking at the next opportunity to take Oreo swimming. Ellie might have to stay home for the day or go to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for the weekend. She’ll much appreciate sleeping all day instead of swimming.
Our summer fun is getting into full swing (and summer is still a month away), and we are looking forward to next weekend! What are your summer plans?
